Yan BEYGELZIMMER, Invited Professor

October 14, 2014

BEYGELZIMMER Yan BEYGELZIMMER is a  Principal Researcher in the High Pressure Physics and Advanced Technology Department, Donetsk Institute for Physics and Technology of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences. He joined us for two months starting from October 13, 2014. He is expert in continuum modeling of grain refinement during severe plastic deformation, in plasticity modeling of powder compaction, in micro-mechanical modeling of elastic-plastic deformation of micro-inhomogeneous materials, etc… He is author of more than 90 papers with large impact in the mechanics community. He is working with us in the WP4 group on the twist extrusion process (his invention) as well as on the powder compaction by high pressure torsion. Yan is located in Metz, in the LEM3 component of DAMAS, in the master-room of building B. His e-mail is: yanbeygel@gmail.com.

Chengfan GU, Invited Associate Professor

GU Chengfan Gu is from the School of Aerospace, Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. She joint us for two months ending September 30, 2014. Chengfan is part of the joint research team between WP2 – Task 4 and WP4 – Task 1. She has been several times invited in the Labex DAMAS, this time she is working on the topic “effect of grain size on texture evolution”. Her main coworkers in DAMAS are Laszlo Toth, Benoit Beausir, Yudong Zhang and Francis Wagner.Chengfan is an internationally known researcher in the field of severe plastic deformation. She is awarded by a DECRA Fellowship in Australia (Discovery Early Career Researcher Award – UNSW) on the topic “Design of alloys over multiple grain scales for improving fatigue performance”. Graduating in 2011 as Ph.D. (in co-mentorship between Université de Metz and Monash University), she is already author of 36 papers of which 10 papers are published with DAMAS.Chengfan is located in Metz, the LEM3 component of DAMAS, in the master-room of building B. Her e-mails are: chengfan.gu@gmail.com, chengfan.gu@rmit.edu.au.

Gabor RIBARIK, Invited Associate Professor

RIBARIK Gabor Ribarik is from the Department of Materials Physics, Eotvos University, Budapest, Hungary. He joint us for one year starting from September 1st, 2014. He is part of the joint research team between WP4 and WP5 on the topic “Grain-to-grain analysis of twinning in polycrystals with synchrotron” set up by Laszlo Toth, Alain Jacques and Stéphane Berbenni. He is also contributing to the research project “Generation of diffraction profiles” coordinated by Alain Jacques in WP5 – Task 3.Gabor is a first class internationally known researcher in the field of polycrystal diffraction especially in X-ray line profile analysis. In spite of his young age (39) his 38 papers are already cited in more than 1100 papers with an average citation of 30 per paper.Gabor is located in the IJL component of DAMAS, in the Ecole des Mines de Nancy, 330B, two doors from the office of Alain Jacques. His e-mail is: ribarik@elte.hu.
